UNHCR WASH Monitoring System – Community Level

The UNHCR WASH Monitoring System includes monitoring of WASH conditions at the community level in refugee settings on a monthly basis. All refugee settings should be surveyed on a monthly basis using the Monthly Report Card. Indicators are tracked on the Refugee WASH Dashboard.

A) Indicators
The Monthly Report Card captures information on 9 community level “access” indicators including:

  1. Number of persons per usable handpump / well / spring
  2. Number of persons per usable water tap
  3. Average # litres of safe water available per person per day
  4. % water quality tests at non chlorinated water collection locations with 0 CFU / 100mL
  5. % of water quality tests at chlorinated water collection locations with FRC in the range of 0.2-2.0 mg/L and turbidity < 5 NTU.
  6. Number of persons per latrine/toilet
  7. % of HH with household latrine/toilet (not shared)
  8. Number of persons per bath shelter / shower
  9. Number of persons per hygiene promoter

The Integrated Refugee Health Information System (iRHIS) is the online platform where data from the Monthly Report Card is entered.
