Absolutely delighted to wake up this morning and learn that @IlhanMN was elected as the first refugee to ever serve in the US Congress! Also the first Somali American, and one of the first two Muslim women. Congratulations! You make so many proud and give so many hope. https://t.co/xXHXU8unrN

Wishing Cynthia all the best to achieve her dreams! Look what happens when the private sector is engaged. Thanks to @MPESAFdnAcademy and @SafaricomPLC for recognizing the potential in these young refugees. https://t.co/qKOlqT8h82

That was supposed to say #UNHCR! Not #UNHRC. Endlessly tricky those acronyms....

Press statement from technical and financial partners in #Burundi on the suspension of intl NGO activities. Indeed for #UNHRC our NGO partners are critical to fulfilling our mandate for refugees, returnees, and IDPs. We do hope for a swift and mutually agreeable resolution. https://t.co/NkTM3AFB6s

Unfortunately Burundi refugee response tops this list of underfunded ones. Great work being done with support received but consequences of limited funds are undeniable. Too many people still living in tents, clinics that run out of medicine...https://t.co/QAGNSszhu0

What an honor to meet and congratulate Dr Atar, this year’s #NansenAward winner. For years this incredibly inspirational man has run a hospital serving 200,000 refugees and local community in Upper Nile State of South Sudan. See him in action here: https://t.co/ZMDXqtFEgf https://t.co/bMW4IDGuRS

@QCbdi @Refugees @UNRefugeeAgency @Le_HCR @UNHCRUK PS UNHCR and partners are seeking funds to assist refugees and returnees alike. The voluntary repatriation program, community reintegration and development in Burundi, and assistance for those refugees who are not at all ready to go back now, all suffer from underfunding.
