Cambodia: 2. Whether poor women in Cambodia without education and skills may be forced to work as a sex worker to survive; and whether they have other employment options. 3. Employment for hairdressers in Cambodia. Are there many jobs for hairdressers? What would a women who works as a full-time apprentice hairdresser, or a junior hairdresser, earn in Cambodia? Is this enough money on which to survive without also working in another job? 4. Whether a woman who worked in a nightclub in Cambodia would be at risk of violence and rape and other forms of harm (from the nightclub owners or patrons). 5. Vietnam: 1. Is there information that would generally support, or not support, the assertion that the situation in Vietnam has become worse for homosexual men in recent years (say since 2007 when VNM32466 was prepared)? 2. Has there been any relevant change to Vietnamese law since VNM32466 was prepared? 3. Are there any reasonably up to date reports of discrimination, especially with regard to employment or other opportunities to earn a livelihood, against homosexuals in Vietnam? 4. Is there evidence of any variation with regard to the treatment of homosexuals between the north and south, or between provinces? 5. What are the general requirements for service in the Vietnamese army? To what extent, if any, does that depend on whether the person has tertiary qualifications? If tertiary qualifications can make a person exempt, does that include tertiary qualifications obtained outside Vietnam?

Syria: 1. Country Advice SYR39739 of 20 January 2012, states that that the Syrian government had recalled reservists in the wake of the Syrian uprising. However, this 2011 recall reportedly had mixed success with ‘credible evidence' suggesting that the regime was 'unable to call back more than 60 per cent of its reserves', according to a December 2011 report by Michael Weiss titled Safe Area for Syria: An Assessment of Legality, Logistics and Hazards. What were the reasons behind the government's inability to call back 60 per cent of its reserves? For example, were the reservists inaccessible or had they intentionally evaded the recall? 2. Is there any information to suggest that reservists have faced punishment or illtreatment for failing to respond to the government's recall of its reservists?
