Cross-Cutting Issues:

Coordinators, in particular those leading inter-sector groups, need to ensure that issues relevant to most if not all operational sectors are addressed in strategic and contingency planning. These “cross-cutting” issues include gender, HIV/AIDS, the environment, age, and disabilities. Chapter 5 provides materials on cross-cutting issues, though the importance of addressing these issues cannot be stressed enough and a wealth of information to inform planning can and should be found on other humanitarian websites.
