We fear that conflict, climate change and the Covid-19 pandemic will worsen the plight of many refugee, displaced and stateless women and girls - many of whom were already facing deep-rooted inequalities and discrimination. #InternationalWomensDay https://t.co/lT254yjwWA

2 million people have now fled Ukraine in the past 12 days alone. They now join more than 20 million refugees from Afghanistan, DRC, Venezuela, Syria, Myanmar and beyond, who've been forced to flee owing to circumstances beyond their control. No-one becomes a refugee by choice.

We're gravely concerned by the situation in Ukraine, with reports of casualties and people fleeing for safety. Civilians + civilian infrastructure must be protected at all times. We're also working with neighboring countries, calling to keep borders open to those seeking safety. https://t.co/SxcOGfV0jH

In response to the ongoing crisis we will expand our protection and operational presence where new displacements have occurred. Our priorities will be on maintaining basic safeguards, advocacy for improved access to fundamental rights and preventing forced returns, among others. https://t.co/A58L6nnoNn
