1. Amendments to Title V, Nationality, of the Code for Persons and the Family

In correspondence with the Research Directorate on 9 September 2013, a lawyer practising in Burkina Faso in a firm specializing in several areas of law, including immigration law (Kéré Avocats n.d.), stated that, to his knowledge, [translation] "the Code for Persons and the Family in Burkina Faso has not ... been amended." Corroborating information and information on amendments to Title V of the Code for Persons and the Family could not be found among the sources consulted by the Research Directorate within the time constraints of this Response.

2. Implementation of Title V, Nationality, of the Code for Persons and the Family

In separate correspondence with the Research Directorate on 14 September 2013, the lawyer stated that [translation] "to our knowledge, there have been no difficulties applying this section [Title V of the Code for Persons and the Family], and given the official publications, a number of individuals have applied for Burkinan nationality." Corroborating information and information on the implementation of Title V of the Code for Persons and the Family could not be found among the sources consulted by the Research Directorate within the time constraints of this Response.
