    A new field office, in Monga, was opened to provide better protection and assistance to new arrivals from CAR in remote areas of Bas-Uele Province.

    CAR: The Secretary-General strongly condemns attack perpetrated by suspected anti-Balaka against a convoy of the United Nations Multidimensional Integrated Stabilization Mission in the Central African Republic (MINUSCA), on 26 November 2017 on the Bangassou-Kongbo axis, in the country’s southeast, resulting in one peacekeeper from Egypt was killed and three others were injured.

    On 15 November 2017, the UN Security Council adopted unanimously Resolution 2387, renewing the mandate of MINUSCA until 15 November 2018 (OP31) and authorizing an increase of 900 military personnel to the number of MINUSCA troops (OP32) to increase MINUSCA’s flexibility and mobility to improve efficient implementation of its full mandate and protect civilians.
