The Information Management Working Group was established in July 2016 to strengthen the coordination of information management including knowledge and data management. The strengthened IM coordination is vital for: 1. Prompt and predictable responses; 2. Evidence-based decision-making; 3. Utilising the information and data collected to the fullest extent possible; 4. Avoiding duplicated or redundant data collection; 5. Optimising spending on information management; 6. Create institutional capacity, memory, evidence base and baseline(s) for future use; 7. Accountability and transparency The IM WG will coordinate information, data and knowledge management activities at the inter-sector level between partners in Turkey. The IM WG will have a strong focus on refugee operations within the context of the sector coordination groups in Turkey at the country level, but the work of the IM WG may go beyond the refugee response. The IM WG will support inter-agency work beyond refugee response when necessary as several agencies are phasing out the distinctions between refugee and non-refugee response and more work will shift towards strengthening of institutions and national ownership.
