These figures represent the number of refugees, asylum-seekers, refugee returnees, internally displaced people (IDP) and IDP returnees, as reported either by national authorities or UNHCR, in central Sahel (Burkina Faso, Mali, Niger), Chad and Mauritania. It does not necessarily imply individual identification, nor registration of each individual, and may include a degree of estimation, as per each government’s statistical data processing methodology.
