MIRPS
Belice, Costa Rica, Guatemala, Honduras, México y Panamá adoptaron la Declaración de San Pedro Sula en el 2017, y acordaron trabajar de forma conjunta en la implementación del Marco Integral Regional para la Protección y Soluciones (MIRPS). En 2019, El Salvador se adhirió al MIRPS comprometiéndose a abordar las causas del desplazamiento forzado de manera integral y en coordinación con los demás países. El MIRPS es una aplicación concreta del Pacto Mundial sobre los Refugiados, el cual fomenta la cooperación regional entre los países de origen, tránsito y destino para una mayor responsabilidad compartida en materia de prevención, protección y soluciones duraderas. También comprende un enfoque participativo al involucrar directamente a personas con necesidades de protección y a las poblaciones afectadas por la violencia y la inseguridad. Por otro lado, integra a organizaciones regionales e internacionales, así como a Estados cooperantes (Argentina, Brasil, Canadá, España, Colombia, Suiza y Uruguay), comprometidos con la agenda humanitaria y de desarrollo.
