Special residency card saves life of Venezuelan in Peru
Kelvin and Marelis left Venezuela for Peru a year ago. Shortly after arriving in Lima in January 2018, Marelis fell severely ill. Marelis spent 22 days in the intensive care unit with kidney failure. Kelvin's earnings selling food on the street were not enough to pay the hospital bills. Gaining access to social services though a special residency card saved the life of Marelis.
