    Let’s be clear what “playing ball” means here: funding Trump’s stupid wall as ransom to let little kids out of cages, encouraging the President to terrorize other little kids to get other things he wants. Yeah, I don’t want to play that game.

    The President of the United States has stolen 2,000 little children from their parents and locked them in cages, to be released only if Congress gives him money to build a wall with Mexico. I’m pretty sure I have that right.

    Here it is. This is the policy — announced 5 days after Trump was inaugurated — that is creating the horrendous situation we're seeing now. It was laid out in a DHS memo in the 1st week of Trump's presidency. Trump created it with a pen stroke and could undo it with the same.

    Jan. 25, 2017: Then-DHS Secretary John Kelly issues a memorandum on Trump's "border security" exec. order. The memo says it "implements **new** policy designed to deter illegal immigration," including the zero-tolerance policy we're seeing play out now.

    Actually, a top Border Patrol official said he’s planning to double the number of parents separated. “We are trying to build to 100 percent prosecution of everybody that is eligible,” he said. “We are not there yet, but that is our intent.”

    We do not have a policy of separating families at the border. Period.
