    Forgiveness is cool if you can do it. But instilling boundaries, cutting contact & refusing to engage with someone who scares & abuses you is good too. Do what you need to do to stay safe &mentally well. Protect yourself first 🌻

    It’s been 1.25 years since we broke up, over a year of no contact, 1.5 years of therapy, lots of work on healing and acceptance, yet I *still* have nightmares about my abuser. Trauma runs deep.

    64% OF REPORTED SEXUAL ABUSE WAS IN CATHOLIC INSTITUTIONS... WHEN CAUGHT, THE CATHOLIC CHURCH DEMANDED THAT VICTIMS BE PAID LESS COMPENSATION THAN RECOMMENDED. SAYING 'SORRY" MEANS NOTHING - THEY STILL DON'T GET IT!
