Welcome to the UNHCR Archives online catalogue which provides access to the records held by the Archives at Headquarters.

Please keep in mind that this catalogue is not yet complete and it is being constantly updated. If you cannot find the information you are looking for, take a look at our old catalogue or contact us.

After selecting the files you need, please go to the “Selection” tab, Print or Download the list and attach it to the Document Request form.

Archives’ records are catalogued in Fonds; the hierarchical structure is as follows:

Fonds: The highest level of the hierarchy within the collection, which describes the entire set of records.

Sub-fonds

Series: A series is a group of records within a Fonds or sub-fonds that are created or accumulated from the same function, activity or subject.

Sub-series

File: The file is the lowest level of the hierarchy. It consists of documents reflects particular activities or subjects, and that bear the same title. A file may consist of any number of individual folders.
