Engaging and Communicating with Persons of Concern:

communication2Engaging and Communicating with Persons of Concern: Communicating with refugees, host communities, and other persons of concern to governments and aid agencies is a core responsibility of assistance providers. The people humanitarians strive to serve need to have basic information about the assistance and services planned for and provided to them. They also need to be able to give feedback on the quality and relevance of that assistance and those services, inlcuding being involved in decision-making processes. Chapter Six provides a collection of materials to guide coordinators as they make sure partners use two-way and mass communication with persons of concern before, during, and after assistance efforts.
