“Freddie”, an ethnic-Kurd from Syria tearfully embraces his newly arrived wife and four daughters, who he had been separated from eighteen months before in Ljubljana. In late April an event took place in Slovenia that is heartbreakingly rare in the refugee community – a family is brought together. A special partnership is bringing together families in emotional reunions that are, for the people involved, the next best thing to going home.
