14 August 2014

Highlights

  •  Clashes between international forces and the ex-Seleka in Batangafo (Ouham prefecture), Central African Republic (CAR), have led to the displacement of an estimated 20,000 people within the town. Following the escalation of violence, that adversely affected civilians and humanitarian access, the Protection Cluster in CAR issued an advocacy note calling for humanitarian access and to not target the civilian population. The Protection Cluster urged international forces in CAR to ensure the protection of civilians in order to prevent massive displacement.
