@kutka18 As a humanitarian agency we do denounce these practices and have been always vocal about it with all stakeholdres.
We also continuously request the immediate release of refugees in detention as well as their release upon disembarkation.
Despite being against the detention of refugees, our presence at disembarkation is extremely necessary, 1st, to provide water, food & medical assistance,
& 2nd to be aware of the number of persons returned in order to follow up on their cases and advocate for their release. https://t.co/2g7QIt45kY
Today only, 270 persons intercepted!
The increasing number of crossing attempts from Libya is worrying & shows the desperation & loss of hope that many refugees & migrants are experiencing.
After UNHCR provided them with assistance, they were all taken to detention. https://t.co/O8McStJj7X
Libyan Coast Guard disembarked some 90 asylum seekers & migrants at Tripoli Naval Base after intercepting their boat at sea.
UNHCR & IRC provided the survivors with food, water & medical assistance.
They will most likely spend the night at the port.
Youngsters joined staff from @Refugees, @RESCUEorg
