Wellington waterfront and the beautiful Te Papa museum - venue for the first NZ National #Refugee Resettlement Forum since 2019. Amazing gathering, and rich conversations touching on how complex real meaningful refugee participation can be. Congrats @MBIEgovtnz https://t.co/5p1zlDMO5U https://t.co/6Xe3LZf5Zo

UNHCR-OECD study: 2 million #refugees found safety in 38 countries over the past decade via safe pathways. With today's record displacement, expanding secure pathways is key to shifting the equation. #GRF2023 https://t.co/SPoc0epdTx https://t.co/bI9FMSsXyU

From the recent #IPCC Synthesis report here are some of the expected impacts of climate change - forced displacement being just one. The challenge is embracing the complexity. And choosing to do things because they're hard, not easy. https://t.co/naSRlEps7a #refugees https://t.co/nvcgF2THOh

@G_J_Russell @vm_harrison Congrats for the nicely done article. One point that looks off is the notion that “…there is no current provision for the protection and assistance of climate refugees under the 1951 UN Refugee Convention”. Loss of human rights is a well established Convention claim ground

Projected global #refugee resettlement needs rise to 2.4 million for 2024 - reflecting today’s increased conflict & war. Syrian refugees continue to present biggest needs, while the Asia-Pacific accounts for 30% of needs - more than any other region. https://t.co/jN959MHzog

Today is International Day in support of Victims of Torture, 36 years to the day since the Convention on Torture came into force. Too many #refugees are survivors of the horrors of violence & torture. Kudos to those who work to help them. https://t.co/BhVyyUMdVW
