The army says the Panama-flagged ship was intercepted in the Red Sea between Eritrea and Sudan last week and it was escorted by Israeli naval vessels to Israel's port of Eilat.
The army says the weapons were intended for Islamic militants in Gaza.
Iran has denied any involvement with the shipment, but Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanuyhu on March 9 accused the Islamic republic of "brazenly lying."
Israel has used the interception to bolster claims that Iran remains dangerous and that the world powers should break off negotiations with Tehran over the country's nuclear program.
