The following information was provided during a 11 May 1999 telephone interview with the Consul at the Embassy of Lebanon in Ottawa.

Page 7 of the Lebanese passport is used for written observations, for example, explaining spelling differences between Arabic and English, or that the passport holder is accompanied by a child, etc.

Page 8 of the Lebanese passport remains blank for visa stamps.

This Response was prepared after researching publicly accessible information currently available to the Research Directorate within time constraints. This Response is not, and does not purport to be, conclusive as to the merit of any particular claim to refugee status or asylum.
