Information on the above subject is not available to the DIRB; however, according to an official of the Embassy of Sierra Leone in Washington, DC, the deputy minister of finance of Sierra Leone since the 27 April 1992 coup has been Lt. Col. Michael Conteh (5 Oct. 1993). The source states that before the April 1992 coup, there were two deputy ministers of finance. One of them was Emma Claye Simboe and the second was a man, whose name the source could not recall readily (Ibid.).

This response was prepared after researching publicly accessible information currently available to the DIRB within time constraints. This response is not, and does not purport to be, conclusive as to the merit of any particular claim to refugee status or asylum. Please find attached the list of other sources consulted in researching this Response to Information Request.
