There is no information on Lahoris or the Ahmadiyya movement in Bangladesh among the sources currently available to the IRBDC. A database search provided one article which made a passing reference to the religious intolerance of orthodox Islamic governments. In "Sudan: Death of a `Heretic"" (The Economist, 2 February 1985), the author states that "In Bangladesh and in Malaysia, Moslem governments are increasingly intolerant of Moslem fringe groups." The article does not elaborate on what form this religious intolerance takes, nor are there any corroborating sources currently available to the IRBDC to support this observation.
