In an 8 June 2004 telephone interview with the Research Directorate, a representative of the Georgetown Chamber of Commerce and Industry stated that some level of insurance is necessary for the initial registration of a business. Different levels of insurance coverage can be obtained by the business owner and, according to the representative, most large businesses are fully covered for loss due to fire and theft, among other situations (ibid.). The Georgetown Chamber of Commerce and Industry has approximately 150 member businesses (ibid.).
