The Xinhua General Overseas News Service reports the release of a gold smuggler on bail in Bangladesh (The Xinhua General Overseas News Service 4 May 1987).

 Elaborating on the case of a member of parliament (MP) accused of gold-smuggling, Reuters reports the rejection of the MP's bail application by a Bangladeshi judge (Reuters 24 June 1987).

 An Inter Press Service report refers to the issuance of a warrant for the arrest of a newspaper editor and a publisher who were released on bail earlier (Inter Press Service 28 October 1988, p. 1).

 Kyodo News Service reports the promulgation of a new ordinance which prescribes "deterrent punishment for felling forest trees and violating of forest laws" (Kyodo News Service 11 September 1989). The report adds that the ordinance rules out the possibility of granting bail to those who are accused of violating the forest laws (Ibid.).

 Reuters reports a Bangladeshi magistrate's refusal to grant bail to two foreigners who were arrested for gold-smuggling (Reuters 25 July 1990).

 According to The United Press International, a Bangladeshi court ordered the release of the former Vice President of Bangladesh on bail who was charged with misappropriation of state funds (The United Press International 4 April 1991).

 Kyodo News Service reports the release of former Vice President of Bangladesh on bail (Kyodo News Service 12 April 1991).
