Authorities in Kosovo say they have arrested three people suspected of organizing and taking part in terrorist activities.

Police spokesman Daut Hoxha said the detentions took place on November 15 on the General Jankovic border crossing between Kosovo and Macedonia.

Police also raided two locations linked to the suspects, who were returning from Turkey.

Hoxha said the operation was conducted after Turkish authorities provided information about the suspects.

A few hundred Kosovo-born volunteers have gone to join the Islamic State extremist group in Syria and Iraq, mainly passing through Turkey. They often appear on their propaganda videos warning of imminent attacks.
