Russian President Vladimir Putin's spokesman says Putin does not plan to raise the issue of the suspended delivery to Russia of two French-built Mistral warships with French President Francois Hollande when the two meet in Yerevan on April 24.
Dmitry Peskov confirmed on April 20 that Putin and Hollande plan to meet in Yerevan to mark the centennial anniversary of the mass killings of 1.5 million Armenians in Ottoman Turkey, recognized by both Russia and France as "genocide."
Peskov said it would be up to Hollande to raise the issue of the Mistral warships.
On April 19, Hollande said on French television that the issue could be discussed with Putin in Armenia.
France postponed the $1.5 billion deal with Russia last year in response to Moscow's illegal annexation of Ukraine's Crimean Peninsula and Russia's role in the conflict in eastern Ukraine.
Russia has said it will seek a refund for the helicopter-carrying warships if they are not delivered.
