According to External Affairs, the child of an Iraqi father, if born outside Iraq, is eligible for Iraqi citizenship but must apply for it at an Iraqi embassy or other Iraqi mission abroad. After the father has registered him/her at an Iraqi embassy or mission, the child will be eligible for Iraqi citizenship. Iraq does not permit dual citizenship.
