Current specific information on the requested subject could not be found among the sources currently available to the IRBDC. Although page 1301 of Country Reports on Human Rights Practices for 1989 (Washington: U.S. Department of State, 1990) reports in its second paragraph on PIRA (Provisional Irish Republican Army) assassinations and threats against police officers and persons who provide services to the security forces, including off-duty prison staff members, no reference to cases of discharged or former soldiers could be found in that or other available sources.
