1) Population breakdown into religious minorities in Qadian, Punjab, and Hyderabad, Andhra Pradesh, is currently unavailable to the IRBDC. However, according to Information Request IND4629, about 3,000 Ahmadis live in Qadian. The only other figure currently available to the IRBDC is Hyderabad's population, which was 2,187,262 according to the 1981 census (Europa 1990, 1292).
2) According to the Toronto-based Ahmadya Movement in Islam, there are about 100,000 Ahmadis living in India (see Information Request IND4629). L'état des religions puts the number of Ahmadis at 130,000 (1987, 257).
