In 10 January 2005 correspondence sent to the Research Directorate, an attorney working on Romania for the European Roma Rights Center stated that Emergency Ordinance 252/2002 is still in force and applied. No corroboration of this information could be found among the sources consulted by the Research Directorate.
No examples of the application of Emergency Ordinance 252/2002 could be found among the sources consulted by the Research Directorate.
