As per our telephone conversation, the only source currently available to the IRBDC for information on this subject is the Seychelles Mission to the United Nations in New York City, United States. In a telephone interview with the IRBDC, a representative of the Mission stated that the Seychelles police includes women in its force (12 June 1991). The source added that the police academy was located on the island of Praslin some six years ago, but was not sure about its current location. Finally, the source was not familiar with the study curriculum of the police academy adding that, although not certain about it, he would assume that women would receive basically the same training as men (Ibid.).
Additional and/or corroborating information on the subject could not be found among the sources currently available to the IRBDC.
