Information on this specific subject is currently unavailable to the Documentation, Information and Research Branch (DIRB). Please find attached copies of two articles referring to Zairian deportees from Britain and the attached Responses to Information Requests CHE3854 and CHE3162 referring to Zairian deportees from Switzerland. These articles and responses, however, do not specifically refer to Zairian deportees from Germany. For general information on Zairian returnees, please refer to the attached Responses to Information Requests dated for 1989.

Also attached are various articles and news clippings which discuss the current human rights conditions and political situation in Zaire. This response was prepared after researching publicly accessible information currently available to the DIRB. This response is not, and does not purport to be, conclusive as to the merit of any particular claim to refugee status or asylum.
