Clashes between Turkish security forces and Kurdish rebels have claimed nearly 60 lives in the country's southeast and across the border in northern Iraq.
Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said on September 29 that more than 30 Kurdish rebels were killed overnight in a cross-border military operation in northern Iraq.
Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK) rebels also killed two Turkish police officers on September 28 in the southern city of Adana.
Turkey's military, meanwhile, said six PKK rebels were killed on September 28 in a clash with security forces near the border with Iraq.
The military added that at least 19 other militants were killed in air strikes conducted by Turkish jets in northern Iraq on September 25.
Erdogan said about 2,000 rebels have been killed in northern Iraq and in Turkey since July.
Around 150 Turkish police and soldiers have also been killed.
