Information on the above-mentioned subject could not be found among the sources consulted by the DIRB. However, the attachments provide information on the relationship between the Sikh movement in Punjab and the Muslim movement in Jammu and Kashmir and on the presence of Sikh militants in Jammu and Kashmir, which may be of interest. The attached 24 February 1994 Reuters report named the Khalistan Zindabad group as a Sikh militant group active in Jammu and Kashmir.

This Response was prepared after researching publicly accessible information currently available to the DIRB within time constraints. This Response is not, and does not purport to be, conclusive as to the merit of any particular claim to refugee status or asylum.
