Two attackers have stabbed and wounded three foreign tourists in Egypt's Red Sea resort of Hurghada.
The Interior Ministry said two assailants armed with knives had entered the four-star Bella Vista Hotel on January 8 and attacked the tourists.
Security forces opened fire at the attackers, killing one and seriously wounding the other.
The three wounded tourists – two from Austria and one from Sweden – were stabbed but their wounds are not serious.
No group has yet claimed responsibility for the attack.
Egypt has seen a wave of terrorist attacks since the army toppled Islamist President Muhammad Morsi in July 2013.
In October, a Russian carrier crashed in Sinai, killing all 224 people on board, most them Russians returning home from the resort of Sharm al-Sheikh. The Islamic State group has said it had smuggled explosives on board.
