MINSK – Belarusian authorities have deported Russian human rights activist Ivan Kondratenko, RFE/RL's Belarus Service reports.
Kondratenko received written notice from the Minsk city court on April 29 that he is among those persons "whose presence in the Republic of Belarus is not wanted," and therefore must leave Belarusian territory by the end of the day today.
No explanation was given for that ruling.
Kondratenko was detained by national security officers on April 28 inside Minsk's Kastrychnik district court, where he was attending the trial of several Belarusian activists charged with organizing mass unrest on December 19.
On March 17, the Belarusian authorities deported another Russian human rights activist, Andrei Yurov, without any formal explanation.
