In 16 February 2005 correspondence sent to the Research Directorate, the chairman of the United Kingdom and Ireland branch of the Democratic Unionist Party (DUP) stated that "all party membership support letters to individuals in Canada and [in] several other countries are delegated to the UK branch, and must be signed by the chairman [and] no other person has this authority."
This Response was prepared after researching publicly accessible information currently available to the Research Directorate within time constraints. This Response is not, and does not purport to be, conclusive as to the merit of any particular claim for refugee protection.
