Former Egyptian President President Muhammad
Egyptian prosecutors have charged former President Muhammad Morsi and 24 other politicians, journalists, activists, and lawyers with "insulting the judiciary."
The charges on January 19 against the former Islamist president – who was ousted in July by the military after nationwide protests – are the fourth set of charges filed against him.
Morsi has been held in detention since his ouster.
Morsi has already been charged with inciting the murder of his opponents, conspiring with foreign groups, and organizing jailbreaks.
His trial is due to resume in February.
Others named in the new charges include some prominent Egyptian youth activists – such as Alaa Abdel-Fattah – ex-lawmakers Mostafa al-Naggar and Amr Hamzawy, and human rights lawyer Amir Salem.
The offense is punishable by up to six months in prison or a fine.
