According to a representative of the Embassy of the Arab Republic of Egypt in Ottawa, generally speaking, persons born in Sudan while it was still the Anglo-Egyptian Condominium have no right to Egyptian citizenship (30 Dec. 1994). Please consult Responses to Information Requests EGY10094 of 17 January 1992 and SDN87333 of 3 June 1991, available through your Regional Documentation Centre for further information on Egyptian citizenship law. In addition, please find attached a copy of excerpts from a 29 May 1975 UNHCR document, which is an unofficial translation of the Arab Republic of Egypt's nationality law.
