In addition to the information contained in Response to Information Request ETH10856 of 28 May 1992 on membership to political affliation, a representative of the Eritrean Relief Association in Canada based in Toronto, stated that the application form is a comprehensive 12-page booklet designed to establish the authenticity of the applicant. Among other questions, applicants are asked to state whether they have been members of "any professional association and/or political organization" and to name them. There is application fee of Cdn$60 for a visa/passport/identity cards.

This response was prepared after researching publicly accessible information currently available to the DIRB within time constraints. This response is not, and does not purport to be, conclusive as to the merit of any particular claim to refugee status or asylum.
