Gunmen have attacked a small airport in troubled southwestern Pakistan, killing two engineers and destroying the facility's radar system.
Officials said up to a dozen assailants armed with automatic weapons raided the Jiwani airport, in the restive Gwadar district, early on August 30.
Gwadar lies around 1,300 kilometers southwest of Quetta, the capital of the southwestern Balochistan Province.
Officials said one man was killed, one wounded, and a third engineer was abducted.
The body of the abducted engineer was later found in nearby mountains, police said.
The attack comes three days after Pakistan reportedly issued a high-security alert for all major airports in the country and asked smaller airports to remain vigilant.
Pakistani airports remain under constant threat as the country's fighter jets launch air strikes against militants from these bases.
In June, 10 Taliban militants laid siege to Karachi airport, killing 27 people.
