Saudi Arabia says three family members of the late Al-Qaeda leader Osama bin Laden have been killed in a private jet crash in southern England.
The Saudi ambassador to Britain, Prince Mohammed Bin Nawaf Bin Abdel-Aziz, offered condolences on August 1 to the wealthy family, which owns a major construction company in Saudi Arabia.
He did not name the three family members, but the Saudi-owned Al-Arabiya television station identified them as the former Al-Qaeda leader's half-sister Sana' bin Laden, her husband Zuhair Hashem, and Sana's mother, Raja' Hashem.
Police say four people – a pilot and three passengers – died when a private jet crashed into a parking lot and burst into flames while trying to land at Blackbushe Airport about 65 kilometers southwest of London on July 31.
The plane had been flying from Malpensa Airport in Milan, Italy.
Osama bin Laden's father Muhammad bin Laden himself died in a plane crash in Saudi Arabia in 1967.
Osama bin Laden was disowned by his family in 1994 when Saudi Arabia stripped him of his citizenship because of his militant activities.
The Al-Qaeda leader was killed by U.S. Special Forces in Pakistan in 2011.
