An official at the High Commission for the Countries of the Organisation of Eastern Caribbean States stated on 10 February 2000 that both Antigua and Barbuda and Saint Lucia allow dual citizenship, and that acquiring Saint Lucian citizenship does not cancel Antigua and Barbuda citizenship, regardless of the date when the Saint Lucian citizenship was acquired.
