Although Country Reports 1999 mentioned that a group called the Naserite Movement held discussions with the New Democratic Movement regarding a memorandum to be given to the president, which called for "expediting reconciliation between the Government and the opposition, restoration of democracy, a new constitution, an interim government, and the organization of free and fair elections," no mention of the Naserite Movement was found in later issues of Country Reports (2000, section 2b).
No other mention of a Naserite party or movement was found among the sources consulted by the Research Directorate.
This Response was prepared after researching publicly accessible information currently available to the Research Directorate within time constraints.
