Sattar Beheshti died in custody.
A group of United Nations experts have urged Iran to undertake an independent investigation into the death in custody of Iranian blogger Sattar Beheshti.
The experts called on Tehran to launch "a thorough, independent, and impartial investigation."
They asked Iran to particularly focus on the allegations of torture and to make the result of such an investigation public.
Ahmed Shaheed, the UN special rapporteur on human rights in Iran, called for "zero tolerance for torture."
Beheshti, a 35-year-old blogger who had been critical of the Iranian authorities, was arrested on October 30 by the cyberpolice.
Authorities contacted his family a week later and told them to collect his body.
While the circumstances around Beheshti's death remain unclear, allegations suggest he might have been tortured to death during his investigation.
