Please find attached sections from two Amnesty International documents which discuss human rights violations resulting from family planning policies in China, and which mention Guangdong and Fujian provinces. Also, please find attached an Amnesty International press release from 28 June 1995. The Coordinator of the Amnesty International Toronto Office writes:

As indicated in the press release of 28 June 1995, Amnesty International takes no position on the official birth control policy in China, but is concerned about human rights violations resulting from it. Unfortunately, we don't have any extensive or detailed information on these violations (23 May 1996).

This Response was prepared after researching publicly accessible information currently available to the DIRB within time constraints. This Response is not, and does not purport to be, conclusive as to the merit of any particular claim to refugee status or asylum.
