Air strikes by a U.S.-led coalition targeted Islamic State (IS) militants in Syria and Iraq with some 23 air strikes in the past 24 hours.
The U.S. military said in a statement on April 15 that there were two strikes near the Syrian town of Al-Hasakah and four others near the northeastern city of Kobani.
U.S. officials said fighter planes and drones hit Iraqi targets near Bayji, Fallujah, Mosul, Ramadi, Sinjar, and Tal Afar.
Meanwhile, intense fighting continued at the Yarmuk refugee camp in the Syrian capital, Damascus.
Opposition activists said on April 15 that Palestinian fighters had made gains against IS militants inside the camp, where fighting has been ongoing for two weeks.
Yarmuk is Syria's largest Palestinian refugee camp and has served as a stronghold for opposition forces fighting Syrian troops.
Some 14,000 civilians are feared trapped in the camp, which housed some 150,000 refugees in 2011 before the Syrian civil war began.
