In a 17 May 2004 telephone interview with the Research Directorate, a representative of the Moscow Helsinki Group stated that the phone number for Alexander Semenenko at the Stavropol Human Rights Center in Stavropol, Russia is (011 7 8652) 280 809 (MHG Moscow 17 May 2004).

According to a representative from the Stavropol Human Rights Center, as well as two other representatives of Russian human rights organizations working in the Stavropol region of Russia, there was no representative of the Stavropol Human Rights Center in Pyatagorsk from May 2001 to November 2003 (Stavropol Human Rights Center 17 May 2004; Solidarnost 17 May 2004; MHG Pyatagorsk 17 May 2004). However, there was a branch of the Moscow Helsinki Group located in Pyatagorsk from February 2002 until February 2004 (ibid.).

This Response was prepared after researching publicly accessible information currently available to the Research Directorate within time constraints. This Response is not, and does not purport to be, conclusive as to the merit of any particular claim for refugee protection. Please find below the list of additional sources consulted in researching this Information Request.
