According to information received during a 2 April 2002 telephone interview with an official of the Embassy of the Federal Republic of Yugoslavia in Washington, DC, only citizens of Yugoslavia are obligated to serve in the Yugoslav military. Other nationals resident in the Federal Republic of Yugoslavia do not serve in the Yugoslav army.
